Pineview PTO Meeting
January 14, 2008

Present:

Cori Sauer, Val Leake, Debbie York, Heidi Feller, Tammy Hayes, Kristi Krieski, Stephanie DeJesus, Faye Zibell

Volunteer Week- set for April

Students will make bowls in art class- PTO will pay for supplies and fillers for bowls (soup/photo of class)
We will get our volunteer numbers by sometime in Feb. Bowls with goodies will go to classroom volunteers.

Earth Day

We are using “Project Wild” as a starting point. Activities will be outlined for Each grade. Nikie Fuhrmann will give details at the next meeting.

Treasurer’s Report

Our Current balance: $11,135
Need projected expenses for field trips.

School Board Meeting–Feb 18

We will discuss next meeting

Principal’s Report

Teachers are excited about “Week of Love” activities.

Dance Feb 15th

Paula will send note first week in Feb. also on school calendar. Student senate will be selling carnations. PTO will pay for extra flowers.

RIFF

March 4th at Pineview.
Pineview’s room: Travel around the world: Europe/Australia
Need volunteer to run room

National Children’s Theatre

2nd Quarter Reward: Sledding

Scheduled for Friday- watch the weather.

Report cards: Jan 30th

There will be a practice lockdown with the police dept. A note will go home to parents before the lockdown.

Pineview Shirts

Parents will be asked to pay again this year. PTO will pay hardship cases.

Spring Fundraiser:

Original Works
Materials are coming this week. Heidi will put notes in teacher boxes. We will have a table in the same place (across hall from the library) Parents can order during conferences. ½ the money earned will be given
To a charity chosen by students.

Stephanie DeJesus will coordinate food for teachers during conferences.

Children’s Museum

Discussion regarding having the hands-on experience geared toward first graders
Come to Pineview.
Discovery to Go Classroom Programs
$700 for two days

DARE Program

Should we as a PTO supplement the program if it is in need of funds?

Would like to speak regarding children and the internet. She will come to next Month’s meeting to give details.

Opera For the Young

Scheduled for Feb 6th. Performance in am for Pineview and South.

Mount Olympus- Jan 25/26.

Say you are with Pineview when you pay, cost is $6 per person.

Come to next meeting with new ideas for fundraisers!
