PTO Minutes
October 8, 2007
Present: Debbie York, Carrie Arneson, Kari Harsch, Val Leake, Kristi Krieski,
Tammy Hayes, Cori Sauer
1. Old news
Publishing house- Louise Prescott will help schedule volunteers.
2. Silent auction
Good money- around $800. Please see website for exact amount.
Discussion regarding moving the date farther into the year- closer
to holidays. Maybe next year we can coordinate this with winter dance?
Too much money spent the first two weeks of school.
3. Mr. Z’s Fall Fundraiser
One order arrived broken (via internet)
Incentives? Pizza at delivery?
Oct 17th 3-5:30
Volunteers 4- people that can lift
--Unload at 2:15
Who will be here?
Volunteers need to bring calculator.
Faye, Cori, Carrie, Heidi, Kari H
Connect Ed message will go out the day before delivery.
4. Mural in the courtyard
Rivard, Linda- does all the planting for the courtyard- Carrie will
do a thank you and gift certificate.
5. 1st quarter reward Friday, November 2nd.
Bowling alley
PTO will provide juice and granola bar
Volunteers— Busing only for inclement weather.
Cori will take photos for website.
2nd quarter sledding, 3rd bingo, 4th blow up slide
6. Aide appreciation Monday October 29th
Last year we did donuts and coffee.
Motion passes for donuts and coffee
46 staff—4 doz donuts motion passed- Val gave blank check to
Cori.
Tammy will grab some juice and do coffee.
7. Fall dance
We are pushing it back to February
8. Student senate to sell carnations?
Val will head up. Talk to Val.
8. Treasurer’s report
a. Went away from $5 per student limit. One classroom has 3 requests
for money for field trips.
b. Discussion about field trips. There will be a minimum grade for some
plays. It will be implemented?
9. Student senate-
Raised $2700 for defibrillator! Carrie will send card.
Shari will receive a stipend for heading the student senate.
10. Retro Bill
Motivational speaker. Can speak on a variety of topics. Fairly expensive-
we should look at spring dates.
Faye will ask Wal-Mart for money
Do we want to have community involved? We can play it up and have
it at the CAL center.
Val will look into it.
11. Donuts with Dad in Dec.
Dec 4, 6, 11. Teachers will have their classes make center pieces.
Donuts from Viking Village.
12. For next time:
a. Selling t-shirts, sweatshirts at open house next year.
