Pineview PTO Meeting
September 10, 2007
Present: Debbie York, Carrie Arneson, Faye Zibell, Ericka Nicolas, Val
Leake, Tammy Hayes, Heidi Feller, Cori Sauer
1. Motion to approve August minutes passed.
Motion- Val, seconded by
Faye.
-extra copies of minutes will be available on parent/PTO board and
on PTO website.
2. Staff Meeting
Heidi and Val attended-
a. Discussed teachers pre-bidding for silent auction.
b. Val discussed money concerns with staff.
c. Publishing house discussed- PTO will not head up, it’s up
to the 1st and 2nd grade teachers to find volunteer to coordinate.
d. Pam Sheard asked about PTO’s involvement in Scholastic Book Fair.
PTO will not head book fair, but will provide list of volunteers from website.
3. Website
Louise will continue to help. Minutes will be posted as well as photos.
4. Silent Auction/open house
a. Be here at 1:30 to set up. Heidi will have blue half-sheets with
guidelines for bidding and picking up item. Bidding ends at 5 pm.
b. Tom Molland from Mr. Z’s will be here with fresh pizza samples.
5. Fund Raiser
a. Thurs kickoff in cafeteria- 1 and 1:30pm
b. Easy fundraiser- parents take no money- pay on delivery
c. Fund raiser runs Sept 13-26th
d. Pick-up Wed Oct 17th 3:15-5:30
6. Treasurer’s Report
a. Field trips- $1 in district, $2 out of
district per child.
b. We will no longer have $5 per child allotment. We will decide
on a case by case basis. We will try to honor all teacher requests
for
funds.
c. Mrs. Weis and Mr. Honnold- mural for courtyard. Do they need more
money?
d. $400 for opera for the young.
e. Motion by Heidi to buy new software to track funds. Cori seconds.
f. Discussion of field trips. Motion to approve field trips- Heidi.
Seconded by Debbie York.
7. Mrs. Hayes Report
Welcome our three new teachers: Allie Baun- Kindergarten, Kim Shrake-
4th grade, Betty Weiss 5th grade (sp), Carrie Arneson- teacher’s
aid.
8. Spanish translator for Pineview. We have several Spanish-speaking Families
who would benefit.
9. Magnet for families
a. Val will look into this.
10. Tom Pease in Spring?
11. Next Meeting:
a. Ideas for spending money
NEXT MEETING October 8 at 6pm in cafeteria.
