Pineview PTO Meeting
August 13, 2007
Present: Louise Prescott, Val Leake, Carrie Arneson, Rachel Burkel, Cori Sauer, Faye Zibell, Heidi Feller
1. Rachel Burkel stepped down as Secretary and motioned for Cori Sauer to replace her. Seconded by Faye Zibell.
2. Louise Prescott will be doing a PTO website.
a. domain name will be PineviewPTO.org
b. sections on the home page will be: Home, Happenings, Scrapbook, Volunteer, Support, and About Us
c. Cori will contribute photos3. Faye will do the parent survey.
4. Publishing House
Denise Svetly will no longer be in charge of publishing house. PTO will supply the program with materials, but will not be in charge of it. Heidi will talk to 1st and 2nd grade teachers to coordinate new head of PH.
5. Carrie is working on a PTO bulletin board for parent information.
6. Silent Auction - Thursday Sept 13th, 3:30-5pm
a. Volunteers need to be at school at 1:30pm to set up.
b. Cori will handle PR.
c. Heidi will get volunteers to watch the bidding.
d. There will be a separate Student Senate auction down the hall. This will allow kids to bid. Contact Shari Miller for additional information.
e. There will be a separate desk for payment of auction items.6. Other Discussion
a. Faye will welcome new teachers with a note.
b. Carrie will handle all written thank yous. (Val will handle finance thank yous)
c. Heidi will be present in Kindergarten classrooms on the first day of school to greet parents and hand out information on the silent auction.
d. Fall fundraiser was mentioned. There will be an overview on the website. Faye will get packets out. Delivery will be October 17 at 3:15pm.
e. Field trips were discussed. Val mentioned that PTO will pay for trips if they have “Educational Value/Purpose.” PTO all agreed.
f. Heidi will organize snack for teachers during inservice.
Next Meeting Monday September 10th at 6pm.
